Keys to a Better Magic Show #7 Look Them in the Eyes.

Every performer should care about his or her audience. We want to make the show the best it can be. This series of tips to improve the show are not exhaustive, but they are a great start. All performers and entertainers should strive to improve their act and give their audience the best show possible each time. It is a good quality in a person to analyze themselves and seek ways to improve and strive for excellence.

Keep your focus on your audience, look into their eyes. Move your glance around the room.  Do not just look at your hands or the back wall of the room, look around and if possible look into the eyes of each person in the audience. This is a great way to draw people into what you are doing. They will feel involved and not ignored.

It helps to feel like you are in a conversation with everyone in the room.

If there are bright lights or a spotlight on the stage and you cannot see the audience then just look into the crowd and imagine you are looking into the eyes of the people in the audience. The audience will think you are directly looking at them.

This is # 7 of a 10 part series. Look throughout the blog to find the other 6 that have been published and then check back for more tips on improving your magic show.
